Welcome to Camp Chloë Session 1 2018!!

What a beautiful day to start camp! The girls arrived this morning to fresh banana bread, a sparkling lake, and cute new Camp Chloë hoodies.

After the parents left we gathered on the dock to get to know each other a little more. It is always funny to look back on those first moments of camp and see how quiet the girls were. By an hour into our schedule they had already lost this shyness and transitioned into the energetic bunch I know them to be.

We jumped in the lake to cool off before lunch and then ate together on the porch. Once everybody had finished, we split up into groups to brainstorm meal ideas together. The girls get to decide (with a little healthy counselor input) what we are going to eat for the week.

On the way to the store we stopped at the Wilton Blueberry Farm and picked a TON of berries. We are going to have so many fresh blueberry treats!! We went to the store and the girls split up to find the food we needed to buy. Somehow they also found the free cookies in the baked goods section...

We went for a swim in the afternoon and then the girls had some free time to hang out and get to know each other better. During this free time some of them decided to write little notes/compliments to put in each other’s mailboxes. We made burgers and corn over the campfire and had a big salad to go with it!

For dessert we had a surprise brownie sundae to celebrate one of the girl’s birthdays. It was a delicious end to a tasty summer meal! We all thanked her for having a birthday :)

We folded and bound our own journals in the evening and then sat together and read Nancy Drew before heading to bed. Everybody was very tired!
