Chloë Rowse Head Shot BRIGHT.jpg

Hi!  My name is Chloë. I am an artist, teacher, athlete, hiker and world traveler, and I have been working with children and adults since 2006!

I love to explore outdoors and I am a certified Wilderness First Responder (WFR), licensed Maine Recreational Guide, and Red Cross Waterfront Lifeguard. This past Spring/Summer I solo thru-hiked the entire 2,190mi Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine.

I am a certified Ashtanga and Vinyasa Yoga teacher and love to share my practice with others. I enjoy working with students of all ages and abilities!

I have lead summer programs for youth for the past 14 years. These programs include art, outdoor exploration, swimming, hiking, yoga, Ultimate frisbee, and much more. I have also coached coed Ultimate frisbee and run several youth Ultimate camps. In 2015, I played on the US Women’s National Team at the World Ultimate Frisbee Championships.

I am a graduate of Merriconeag Waldorf School (now Maine Coast Waldorf), Waynflete High School and Colorado College, where I double majored in Education and Studio Art.  I have studied German, French, and Italian. I also studied Dutch while living in the Netherlands for a year after college.

I love to travel, meet new people and explore new cultures.  When I was 12 years old, I went on my first solo trip to Europe, visiting a pen pal in Germany. Since then I have traveled all around the world.  I spent two months in India on a Venture Grant I received from Colorado College, a semester in Italy studying art history and Italian, and some time traveling in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Thailand, Vietnam, Mexico, Canada, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, and throughout Europe. Last fall I traveled to South America and hiked through Patagonia (in both Chile and Argentina), played Ultimate Frisbee on the beach in Chile, biked and hiked around the Atacama Desert, volunteered in the Amazon Rainforest in Peru, and trekked across an ancient Incan trail to reach Machu Picchu. I later traveled to India to study yoga for a month and received my Vinyasa and Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Certification.

In addition to the summer programs I offer, I also run workshops, private yoga lessons, retreats, birthday parties and custom events! Contact me to learn more!

"Chloë has a wonderful gentle way about her so children and adults feel safe and comfortable -- I trusted her competence immediately”

"In addition to creating the happiest week of the summer for my girls, I feel so grateful for my children to have a role model like Chloe -- she is a person of integrity and curiosity, with such an open heart."

"Chloë is very well organized... I have always appreciated how she takes the best from diverse educational models and also tailors activities to different personalities and interests... Chloe also manages to create a tangible culture of respect, tolerance and kindness, and infuses the days with a spirit of wonder."

"Chloë can connect groups of girls seamlessly...she is vigilant about safety and rules but in a way that the girls never questioned...I watched Chloë through the years and trust her immensely and hold her in a special place in my heart because of what she gave my girls."

"The summer program was a huge success! I am not even sure where to start...my daughter had the time of her life! Before this week, she was not a "nature girl" she was so proud to tell me all about their hike to the top of the big mountain. Before this week with Chloe, she hated swimming in lakes, now she loves it! She was so excited to tell me all about their days, from breakfast to lights out! I had so much fun reading the blog every night. My mother was reading the blog as well and decided that she wants to attend as well! You guys did so many creative activities! My daughter came back more mature and a foot taller!  After reading the blog each night, I was exhausted! You managed to pack so much into each day. She had so fun fun with Chloë and her helpers. So, on our end...it was a HUGE success!!! We are already looking forward to next year!"
