Day 2 Camp Chloë Wilton

Today we went for a morning swim in the lake as soon as we woke up. It was early enough that the water was still calm and we could see the bottom. We ate a big breakfast after - eggs, toast, cereal, bagels, english muffins, and fruit. After breakfast we packed our lunches and went to the lookout in Weld which looks out over Webb Lake. Between the 9 of us we picked 3 quarts of wild blueberries (no bigger than a small pearl).

Once we were full from all the blueberries, we left the lookout and climbed Center Hill. At the top of Center hill we had a picnic and ate berries and sandwhiches. We hiked down a different way than we went up and saw a beautiful view of Mt. Blue.

After the hike the girls were very hot so we stopped in Wilton for an ice cream treat! We then went to Berry Fruit farm for a tour and picked 6 pints of raspberries in 6 minutes! There were so many berries!! The owner showed us around and we saw large fields of pumpkins, apples, peaches, cherries and much more!!

After the tour the girls were pretty tired so we headed back to the house for a quick dip in the lake and then rest time. Once they had enjoyed some down time, we then made pizza dough, blueberry pie, and fruit leather! We bound our own journals while we waited for the dough to rise and then when it was ready, we stretched our own pizzas and cooked them on the grill over the fire pit. The girls decided to eat s'mores for dessert instead of the blueberry pie we made! Just as we finished dinner it began to rain. Luckily we got everything inside before the downpour and then we saw a rainbow!

After dinner the girls started making friendship bracelets while Chloë read to them. They were all very tired from a long day and had their lights out by 8:30. It was a very fun day.
